How to improve your pagerank
PagerRank indicates how important Google thinks a page is on the web. The value goes from 1 – 10 and the higher your number the more important your site is, the higher Google will place you in their search engine. So improving your PageRank can be an important part of your search engine optimisation strategy.

So how do you improve your pagerank?
- Links from other websites: the logic behind is that the more people are willing to link to you the better your site will be. However, Google distinguishes between websites. The better the reputation of the website that links to you the more value it will have.
- Pages: more quality content pages will increase your page rank. Be sure, however, that they are indexed by Google.
- Make sure that all your important pages are linked to from the frontpage and other major pages, but distinguish between important and less important pages (channelling)
- Submit important pages individually
- Links to other sites can damage your page rank. Always make sure that the sites that you link to also link back to you.
- Make sure you always use the same homepage url
- Although new pages increase page rank to the entire site, some pages may lose PageRank due to the new page gaining some. So you need to make sure that new pages are linked in such a way that the important pages don’t suffer.
